The road to happiness is simple.
However, happiness can mean many things to many people. That is the reason why many artists tried to represent the theme of "happiness" by different medium and different angles .To the uprising local artist Mr. Tam Cheuk Man, Felix, the meaning of happiness is to share. Through the creation of a character called CHEAPMAN, Felix share his life experience with others. He posted an colourful illustration on his BLOG every day and set to work accumulating more than 600 artworks. The BLOG of CHEAPMAN is now one of the hottest website in town.

ABOUT Tam Cheuk Man, Felix
Felix is a born artist. When he was in Kindergarten, he had already started to use the walls at home as his drawing board and to bring his drawing skill into full play. In order to become an artist, Felix continuously equip himself by taking part in art-related courses, including Diploma in Illustration & Design of the Hong Kong Christian Service Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre, Diploma in Computer Animation of Hong Kong Art School, Diploma in Digital Visualization and Interactive Multimedia Design and Application in College of Lifelong Learning of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. In 2006, he created his first character - CHEAPMAN. With the success of CHEAPMAN, Felix's was invited to exhibit at different galleries in Asia, including Design Festa Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, White Tube at Hong Kong Arts Centre and etc.

ABOUT CHEAPMAN
"l had already dreamed of creating an character who can bring happiness to others when i was only a little boy. However, being an artist is a hard job in Hong Kong. As a result, I chose to become a designer after my graduation from Hong Kong Christian Service Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre. The opportunity of being an artist didn't come until 2006. The writing of BLOG became very popular in Hong Kong at that time, s I decided to start my career as an artist on the Internet."

Felix used himself as a model and created a chubby little boy called CHEAPMAN. “I named this character as CHEAPMAN not only because it has similar pronunciation with my Chinese name - Cheuk Man, but also because it is down to earth. In my dictionary, the word "cheap" means the power of affability among the public. I believe that "Art comes from living; yet living is inseparable from art". Art should not be alienated from common people. It should be accessible to everyone. Correspondingly, the art of happiness is to share it with others, regardless of age and nationality. CHEAPMAN is not only my alter ego, but also everyone's. "

CHEAPMAN first appeared on the Internet on 14 Feb 2008 and gradually become popular among netizens. Because Felix has a full-time job, he needs to scarify hours of bed time every day to take care of CHEAPMAN. A colourful illustration with a few words sharing Felix's daily experiences is posted on the BLOG everyday. The taste of happiness is enjoyed by many netizens and become the Chicken Soups by heart of them.
