Dear Customer, We are delighted to launch a new collection of
seven signed limited editions: 'A Brief
Encounter' by Jeff Rowland. Inspire by the universal theme of romance,
this collection portrays the bond that has no boundaries – the bond of love. In
these pieces you can see narratives unfolding; couples coming together –
sometimes by chance and sometimes pre-determined, couples parting – for how long
we do not know; couples sharing a moment in each others arms and in each other
lives, couples seizing the chance to turn an everyday moment into a special
one.
Heavily
influenced by the work of British film director David Lean, who notably directed
‘Brief Encounter’ in 1946, Rowland have remained steadfastly faithful to
capturing scenes as if take from the director’s eye. Like the film, the
paintings are simple, yet realistically honest; although full of romantic
connotations they may not always paint a happy ending. As much as they could be
portraying a couple hopelessly in love, they could also be portraying a couple
entangled in an illicit love affair. This is where Rowland leaves the viewer to
add their own interpretation.
The collection
is now available to view and to purchase at The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA).
Due to the limited nature of the work, this collection is only available for our
honorable collectors. ACT fast and
