Ai Xuan, born in Zhejiang in 1947. He graduated from the the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts Preparatory School in 1967. He is currently a member of the Beijing Art Academy's Committee and a member of China Artists Association.
In 1986, he participated in the 2nd Exhibition of Asian Art in Japan.
In 1987, he participated in the Chinese Contemporary Oil Painting New York at the Harkness House exhibition. He was a Visited Scholar of the University of Oklahoma City. Solo exhibition was held in New York.
In 1987-88, his works received great praise in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Art News and The Christian Science Monitor.
In 1988, work "Lonely Marshland" sold from Auction to Safeguard The Great Wall and Venice, Sotheby's. Ai Xuan's name was placed on The Great Wall Monument.
In 1989, he took part in the Monte-Carlo International Competition of Art in France.
In 1996, Ai Xuan, Luo Zhong Li, Wang Huai Qing, Wang Yi Dong and Zhao Li visited US, participated in the "China Oil Painting Exhibition".
In 1999, published in the renowned Prof. M Solomon's Art of China No.4 and the text is entitled as the required text for Yale University. Ai Xuan was regarded as one of a few representatives of Chinese contemporary art history.
Awards In 1981, work "A Man of Great Will" won the second prize in the 2nd National Exhibition of Young Artist.
In 1986, his work "Snow" awarded by the French International Fine Art Exhibition, the Eight National Salon in Paris and received honorable mention in the Second Asian Art Exhibition in Japan.
