Wang Zushi, female, bore in 1933 in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province. She is the industrial arts master and one of the founder of Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute.
Wang Zushi is fond of fine art ever since she was a little girl, and entered into Industrial Art Production Cooperation Society with excellent achievement, and act as leader. In 1958, she devoted herself in study Suzhou embroidery needle methods and needle method collection. She makes huge contribution to the research, study and use of 42 kinds of needle methods of Suzhou embroidery.
From the year 1956, she independently finished national level gift exhibition production many times, and also was awarded many times. “Pine Age and Crane Old” embroidery produced by her in 1960 is still keeping in the exhibition room of People’s Hall; the large embroidery works “Worker Class Must Lead Everything” in 1969 embroidered Chairman Mao’s portrait and was highly praised by Prime Ministry Zhou Enlai, many of her students have now become backbone talents in the current embroidery industrial art circle. |
